Cupid and Psyche

Love? What is love? Is it a feeling, emotion, life, something real? Cupid and Psyche’s love was the real deal, love, and trust. People relate to this love everyday through a natural feeling a love that just used to having and socially you see society today by people holding hands walking down the street or in a restaurant, true? Psychological you see this through ones emotion or actions

Cupids symbol is his arrows. Socially you see them on Valentines Day. The arrows are represented to show heart struck love or arrow struck love, you could say. Psychologically Cupids love for Psyche felt like a love struck by his arrow. Naturally he couldn’t ignore it, it was there he knew it was there, he didn’t try to ignore it he enforced it by sneaking off to see Psyche at night, even thought it was against his mothers demand. His mother was Venus “goddess of love”. Venus was jealous of Psyche because of her beauty. Venus wanted her to fall in love with an ugly terror but Cupid went against his mothers demand and fell in love with Psyche.

Psyches beauty was a symbol well of beauty. Beautiful people are around us everyday and it is not by outer beauty but inner beauty too. Naturally beauty can amaze us by looks and it is an everyday thing. Socially you see them in magazines, calendars, and books. Psychologically people are jealous of this because lets face it some of us are born beautiful on the outside and some are born beautiful on the inside. Beauty in the inside is greater then the outside because people use their beauty as an advantage to get what they want, people with inner beauty use it for the right reasons not the wrong. Psyche had both inner beauty and outer beauty and that’s the best kind of beauty you can find.

Because of this beauty Venus used it agents her by providing Psyche with a box, a beauty box it was called. Venus lied to Psyche and told her this box was full of beauty and of course Psyche was interested to find out what Venus had meant but really inside that box was a curse to take away all of beauty Psyche had obtained so that Venus could be the all beautiful one again and Psyche had to rot. This shows how selfish people can be on a natural level, when one is more beautiful then the other and jealousy has a place in it too. Socially you cant hind that beauty but you’ll try to destroy that beauty by doing what ever you can to make that person feel as low as you can make them feel. Psychologically when your jealous to the point you cant stop, you’ll destroy anything in your way to get what you wont no matter who it hurts in your life, a loved one, best friend, boyfriend or girlfriend.

Cupid and Psyche went through a lot because of Cupids mother Venus and her vicious jealousy. But if you can make it through anything together then your love is strong and it’s the best love that anyone and everyone wants. That in my mind is what love is; do you think that is love too?
